How license activation works¶

Premium purchases are permanent and are bound to the Google Play account used to make the purchase. As long as the device is signed in with the same Google Play account, the purchases remain associated with that account.

Reinstallation, factory reset, and new devices¶

When EDS NG is installed on a new device or reinstalled on a device you have used before, it retrieves your purchases from Google Play. If an internet connection is available, the app then contacts the EDS license server and activates the license for the current device.

After a normal reinstallation, purchases are usually restored and activated automatically. The same applies after a factory reset or when moving to a new Android device: install the app, sign in with the same Google Play account, and allow the app to restore and activate your purchases online.

Multiple devices¶

Your license can be activated on multiple devices, so you can use purchased premium features on more than one phone or tablet, subject to the activation policy.

Manual activation¶

Automatic restoration and activation require an internet connection so the app can verify your purchases with Google Play and register the license for your device. If internet access is not available on the device where you need to activate premium features, you can activate the license manually using another device with internet access.

In EDS NG, open the right menu, select Premium Features, open the right menu on that screen, and choose one of the following options:

Manual activation — opens Manual Purchase Activation, where you can generate an activation request using a browser or email.
Send activation code or file — opens Activation Code or File, where you can apply the activation file or activation code you receive.

Devices without Google services¶

If you plan to use the app on a device without Google Play services, you can purchase the premium features through Google Play on another device that has Google services. Then contact support with your order number to receive a purchase code.

To apply the code on the device without Google Play services, open the right menu, select Premium Features, open the right menu on that screen, and choose Purchase code. This opens Purchase Code Input, where you can enter the code and activate the purchased premium features.
